After more than three decades of serving our community, the Dayton Weekly News is entering a new chapter. The publication was recently acquired by RoShawn Winburn, who will serve as Publisher and lead DWN forward while building on the legacy established by founder Don G. Black and carried forward by Donerik Black.

While ownership is changing, the purpose of the Dayton Weekly News is not. The DWN will continue telling the stories of Dayton’s African American community, connecting readers with useful information and opportunities, amplifying voices that deserve to be heard, and helping build a stronger community. We’re also looking ahead.

Expect an expanded digital presence, greater community participation, new contributors and voices, and new ways for readers, businesses and organizations to engage with the DWN.
